Lake Minatare

Well I decided to go North East for a few hours. The girls and I went out for the afternoon to visit my Aunt, Uncle and Grandpa who were camping at the lake. It was very nice and quiet. Only 4 campers were parked along the lighthouse campground areas. at Lake Minatare.

I couldn't believe how high the water was. I also had a new experience of backing the boat trailer in so my uncle could load the boat. I was AWESOME. He didn't even have to get wet. So I think I acquired a new job when we go fishing.

The water is 74 degrees so it is very nice not FREEZING like Big Mac. The girls had a great time finding rocks for their collections. They only got to keep one because I am a mean mom. The rest were thrown back into the lake to grow for a while.

The only down side was that there are roughly 7 gazillion mosquitos and 3 million green flying beetles (cucumber bugs to my family).

Itch to go Somwhere

I am wanting to get this work done and head out North, South, East or West. Doesn't matter. Give me some ideas.

The Needles in South Dakota

Here are some pictures of the Needles. Bove is s picture of the Eye of the Needles. My girls loved to climb them and strike a pose. The road was crazy twisting heartache and so were the tunnels. We had to sit and wait for the tour buses to scrape through the tunnels. they had about 2-4 inches on either side of the mirrors. Not much room for error.

Favorite Places

Where are your favorite places to camp? Mine is in Hot Springs, SD. It is called Larive Lake Resort. It is great for kids. There campsites and cabins, a spring fed pond with catch & release fishing. There are several attractions near the campground like Evans Plunge, Custer State Park and the Mammoth Site.

Check them out and let me know what you think.
